Rates & Insurance
Rates
Working on your mental health is an investment in yourself. I invite prospective clients to call me to discuss their unique needs, at which point we can decide if we are a fit and then discuss payment. People often find great benefit in just a few sessions and discover that it is affordable and worthwhile to pursue a path to greater wellbeing.
The cost of therapy should not be a barrier to your growth; thus, a sliding scale is available on a limited basis. Sliding scale slots become available when a client using that slot concludes their therapeutic work, thereby opening it up to another client.
The Process
I conduct initial intake meetings that involve a thorough biopsychosocial assessment, so that I can get a clear sense of the challenges you are facing. It is our most essential time together. Generally speaking, by the end of this initial meeting or after our first session together, we will formulate a treatment plan for how best to meet your goals.
Insurance
I accept some insurances, Victim Compensation and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Please bring to my attention, at the time of scheduling, if you would like to use insurance.
Please note: It is the client’s responsibility to contact their insurance company regarding specific coverage for Behavioral Health Services with Liv MacKenzie MA LPC. I am happy to provide a ‘cheat sheet’ guide as you navigate requesting the necessary information from insurance companies.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered fully or partially. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services. I recommend asking the following questions to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include behavioral health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Payment
I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
A credit card is required to hold your appointment. Your card will be stored in your electronic medical record, in a HIPAA-compliant and secure format.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
Questions?
Please contact me with any additional questions you have. I do all I can to support my clients’ needs.
There are risks and costs to a program of action, but they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.
